Inventions

Post by Northern Lass »

Just wondering why no one has invented something that replaces salt and grit when we have snow!
surely there must be a chemical that absorbs water and then becomes like a rough crystal for the roads!

I went out today and the pavements are lethal!

also if I was a kid I would be going round folks houses at the weekend offering to clear their drives for a couple of quid!
Cushy kids these days
might chuck mine out armed with a plastic shove and tell him to go and earn some money!

So I wondered have you ever invented anything, or do you have an idea for an invention?

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Here you can get elastic straps with metal teeth to stick under your shoes - popular with the elderly and infirm :-)
I used to put them on when helping my daughter with her paper round.
I think they just put sand down on our ice/snow because the salt was disolving the tar and then it splashed on the sides of cars. Not really had much snow for years now though, not like it used to be when my kids were little.

But no, I've not invented anything. I did have one brilliant idea but have never got around to seeing if it works. And this winter I did decide someone should design smart reflectors to clip on adults' coats so they can be seen walking in the dark. Only some arty woman with an architect hubbie have apparently caught my brainwaves and are now selling hand made ones. Wonder if they would cut me in for a percent?
