Well one of mine has gone and it is awful!
I hate it!!
I so miss having them here...they should have been for another year or two
but got the opportunity of a house that was too good an offer
so they went
:(

Did you pack their bags for them and kept giving em one way tickets to get the hint!
or do you miss em like crazy!

Getting old sucks!

Sorry you are missing your offspring NL but try to think of it as a success story--

Without your positive influence that gave them the confidence to fly the nest

I take comfort from the saying:

There are two lasting gifts our children -

one is roots

the other is wings.

You will have more time to find those roots for them now!

One of mine left 12 years ago although she only lives around the corner.
The other two are still at home but i suppose there will come a time when they will leave as well.
Getting old does suck but i'd rather do that than the other alternative!!

Ah! Robert they must be very happy at home how old are they now the litte ones that remain?
40? 50?

You must make it very cosy for them to want to stay!

When our youngest left home, about 12 years ago, we'd never been on our own as we lived with hubby's parents when we first got married. I can honestly say it took us about 5 minutes to get used to the peace and quiet, we love them to bits and letting them go is one of the hardest things about being a parent, but ours keep coming back and bringing our lovely grandchildren to see us- the youngest only lives 5 mins down the road, and you never stop being a parent however far away they are.

I miss having my 2 eldest at home. The eldest is at Uni so he does come back now and then. The middle one doesnt live far and is often here and phones about 6 times a day :roll:
Our house is usually full of kids from where we live. They just always have and they call me Aunty Jo or their other Mother! Even some in their 30's say it :lol:

Dont know how I will be when they all grow up...

Theres a lovely song and I cant think for the life of me its name or who sings it :oops: I'll go hunting and let you know!

I do hope they wash behind their ears and eat their greens

I do hope that they remember that what ever we did be it scold or kiss we are ambiguous
and can do 2 things at once

he who never quite reads between the lines sad really as he is missing so much!

But just to appease the men

here is one

I think that the worst thing is that once the kids go the focus is on you and your partner
and that is when all the little things start to irritate you
like what they put in the fridge when they shouldn't
