Edwin Lloyd Williams

Post by Rob »

I can't find him on the 1871 census!!
He was born 1852 Rowley Regis,Staffs to John Williams b.1828 and Elizabeth Hadley b.1830.
1861 he's living in Lapal,Worcestershire with his grandparents George Lloyd Williams and Phoebe Price.
1881 he's married and living in Mott Street but where is he aged 19 in 1871??
His parents,John and Elizabeth, are not to be found on any census after 1851.They probably died and that's why he's living with his grandparents in 1861.
Where was he in 1871? :?

Hi Rob as Jo said Labourers tended to loose themselves, such as Agricultural Labourers, they would go off working on Farms and sleep in Barns etc. Not everyone is to be found on the Census, for whatever reason, we all have some missing here and there. Hope Edwin turns up. Linell.

Sometimes Edwin can be down as Edward too leaving more possibles. Birth places can change too.
Are you not certain that both his parents had died? Does his marriage cert say father deceased?
He may have just been visiting his grand parents? Do you know if he had any brothers or sisters?
