Hi and Merry Christmas everybody...
Regarding the 1841 census in the geographical area between Leeds and Knaresborough, I'm chasing or looking for the following persons: Jonathan Lewis and Elizabeth Fawcett. The specific placenames in that area of Yorkshire may be Wetherby or Sicklinghall.
It is my belief that Jonathan Lewis and Elizabeth Fawcett did not marry in Britain, and that they may have married in the U.S., but that they produced, incredibly, 3 and maybe as many as 4 children out of wedlock in Britain. The children are: Aron (or Aaron), Moses, Miriam and Robert. These children's given surnames at birth my have been "Lewis" or "Fawcett" or a combination of the two like: "Lewis - Fawcett." GRO records (per FreeBMD) of these children's births begin in 1838 with Aaron, and end with Robert in 1846. The records FreeBMD returns are a tad mixed and confused as to exactly what their respective given surnames were at birth; be it "Lewis" and/or "Fawcett." It appears also that all 4 were christened at Knaresborough.
In short, my question is: Do they, or any combination of these people appear in the 1841 census, and if so, I would be thrilled if somebody could send an image of the census page.
Thanks much......
Mike
