Weather Watch!

Post by grangers14 »

Whats the weather like where you are?
My Hubby should have gone back to work today but...
Trains not running from here so started to go to Darlington but got a call...
The choppers from Aberdeen have only let 3 go today, so he has to try tomorrow
Train to Aberdeen then see if the choppers are running.
Poor lads waiting to get off!
Roads and paths a mess here. Had a fall myself trying to get back in the house
My youngest had been to Middlesbrough today and the bus back bumped over curbs and almost crashed a few times.
I hope you all stay safe and warm!
Theres still about 6inch snow in our gardens.
May be a warm rum and black tonight!
Jo :)

came back and all the crimbo shopping was done by Wolvie....part of his penance!

and a rum and coke sounds good
I am on a nice chilled wine and sod all on the tv
I would watch this digital wotsit but he has gone to badders and I can't work it!!

Are you ok?

Well dont go out much so am ok. Yesterday, my son warmed the car for a good 10 mins and when I went to open the door I nearly went under it! The door was still frozen! Held on to my seat all the time we were getting to my Auntys!

Now its time to worry if my hubby will get home Wednesday
We are still thick snow, Scotland looks like its already had some more. The airport here wasnt doing flights today at some point, there was a chopper on the rig today though.
More snow forecast here, just a little this evening though, but its freezing!
Whats it like in your neck of the woods?
Jo :)

Don't like to gloat, but ....

"Melbourne Forecast for the rest of Tuesday:
Mostly sunny. Winds northwesterly averaging up to 20 km/h tending south to southwesterly around midday then increasing to 25 to 35km/h this afternoon.
City: Mostly sunny. Max 27
Around Melbourne:
Mount Dandenong: Max 25

Fire Danger: High [12-24]
UV Alert from 9:40 am to 5:10 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 9 [Very High]

It's a perfect day, sunny, warm, balmy breeze, birds are singing. But just wait 10 minutes and it could all be different ... that's what Melbourne's like.

It sounds like the fun and beauty of snow has worn off?
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

I wouldn't boast about Melbourne too much. Into the 40's by the weekend and perfect fire weather.

Mind you, today was nice except I got one station along my trip to work and the kippers and eggs I had for breakfast decided to make a return trip all over the carriage.

Almost started a chain reaction :)

So I have spent most of today worshiping the Porcelain God known affectionately as Raaaaaalph so the nice sunny weather was wasted on Moi'.

Just wondering if anyone has any local news "up north"

My daughter is on a train travelling from Birmingham to Durham and is apparently stuck still just South of Leeds - the live train journey's website is down - anything on local radio to say what the situation might be?

Thanks for that Mally - they seem to have lost her train it is so late but she has just phoned to say they are beginning to move so that sounds more hopeful

Ive been watching the trains and flights all day just to keep watch for tomorrow.
The trains were having problems earlier, Durham Tees Valley Airport was closed but had reopened a little while ago.
Such a worry when people are travelling in this weather, I hope she gets to Durham soon. Is it Durham uni she is at?
Peter will be able to say what the weather is like there. We are a little South to him but its bad here.

Thank you for your updates and concern - she is currently sitting on Durham station - she and a friend are indeed going back to Uni - large suitcases so waiting for taxi -- apparently the town is gridlocked.

I was going to be driving her but there was a last minute change of plan - hence the reason I am talking on here rather than sitting in a snow drift!

There is always a silver lining to these things if we look hard enough. - at least they will have had plenty of chance to catch up on what they have not talked about on MSN/ FAcebook all holiday!!
