*Arc tbc* --My nan's family - Dimmock

Post by Pudsey to Howard »

Hi

My grandmother, Hannah Dimmock [1905-1969], was born in Normanton Yorkshire.

She was the daughter of William [1856-1915], born in either Burslem [1911 census]; Dudley Wood [1901 census]; or Cradley [1891 census]; or Dudley [1861 & 1871 census] & Elizabeth, [1864-1911], born in either Burslem [1911 census]; Rowley Regis [1901 census]; or Dudley [1891 census].

I'm having problems finding William in the 1881 census - on the 1911 census he indicates that he and Elizabeth have been married 32 years.

Any ideas?

Doug

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately Linell this isn't my William - I've found this one still in tranmere in 1891. Mine is living in Featherstone.

I've considered the one suggested by Mark and have put him down as a possible as there's no way to confirm it without usig a Tardis.

Hi Doug, you wrote < on the 1911 census he indicates that he and Elizabeth have been married 32 years.>

Therefore they Married about 1879 then? Shouldn't they both be on the 1881 Census?

Sorry getting confused here.

Hi

It is indeed that family in 1901 - I notified ancestry of the change - fortunately my mum remembered an Uncle Laban!

In 1911 they're living at 100 Ings Lane Castleford.
