Moan, moan!

Post by gardener »

On June 26th I wrote to the records office in Trinidad asking if they could search for a death certificate of a person believed to have died in Trinidad in early Jan 1921.

On Friday I got the reply (4 months later) saying that for 7 dollars they would be able to search for the certificate IF I could tell them when (date) and where (where in Trinidad) the person died.

Hmm, the reason I want the certificate is that I want the exact date and place of his death!!!!

It cheered me up to see that it took 14 days from the date the letter was written to the date the post office in Trinidad stamped it - in between it was stamped by two government departments.

So no more complaining about the GRO please

Could you imagine being a Public Servant in Trinidad?

Shall I work today or succumb to the surf, sun and sand?

So I think the seven month delay is reasonable :)
