Little places off the beaten track!

Dragged Wolvie out today....I know how to entertain!

Slap up brekkie at the local hospice!
followed by a drive up the motorway
with me talkin to him!

and I have to say this made me think of a topic :idea:

Let us all know those lovely picturesque out of the way or in the way places that you know about
and maybe we can put the report in the County section too!

So I went to Stone today and it was lovely for a mooch
then we drove thru Eccleshall....very very nice

I can highly recommend Miss Marples up in the Dandenongs but I think you would find the 17000KM drive a bit tiring... and wet....

Without doubt, one of my favourite places to visit is Kynance Cove in Cornwall, unfortunately word has got out and it is quite popular in the summer months but at least I have my memories of it. A secluded cove about a 1/4 of a mile from Lizard Point, access to the cove is down a steep path, but well worth the climb down.

This solved a mystery for me - my uncle and aunt named their house Kynance after the place they went on their honeymoon and now I know where it is!

Thank you - a beautiful place indeed - I could be one of those tourists you are moaning about next Summer!!

So pretty, SteveT! I love Cornwall. Stayed lots of times at Mevagissey. That's a great spot too. Lovely cliff walks, fab beaches, beaut pub.

Yeah, you're right, Jimmy! That's about 2 minutes up the hill from me (the way I drive :wink: )

Miss Marple's looks like an old half-timbered house/shop, serves yummy meals & snacks, and is so popular there are sometimes queues waiting to get in on a weekend!

Mark, if you are up this way sometime, try the little restaurant on the Olinda golf course (forget what it's called). The food is pretty good and the view is fabulous!

Have you been to William Rickett's Sanctuary?

William Rickett is related to my missus, which I found out about a month ago when doing that part of the tree.

William Rickett's is wonderfull and was on my list of things to do with my Oldbury Uncle and Aunt but we ran out of time..

They were amazed that whenever we sat down in the Dandenongs we would get some sort of bird sitting next to us asking for a feed. Rosellas, Galahs, Sulpher Crested Cokcatoos, Kookaburras, Magpies etc .

I did warn my Uncle about leaving his snags unguarded on the BBQ and sure enough, when he moved away for a second he lost two of them to Kookas.

He was saying that they love daytrips out of Oldbury but the intial drive to get out of the suburbs is always very slow and can ruin the day.
