Sometimes I look at mine or my wife's ancestors and think "What the!"
One example that has caused me nothing but trouble is the Bye family from Larling in Norfolk.
John Bye seemed sane when he married his first wife. The children had normal names and were easy to find in census etc.
When she died and he married his second wife, and became a Wesleyan , things went weird.
He had 14 children with his second wife and all their forenames start with B!
Barnabas, Benjamin, Berachiah, Bartimias, Bartholomew, Bathsheba, Barbara, Bracus, Boadicia, Bathiah, Beriah, Barzilia, Barjona.
Some of these children emiigrated to Australia and seemed to have come to their census.
The ones who remained in England continued this trend so even after three generations there are some lines with nothing but "B" forenames.
Can you imagine the mess the transcribers make of these names (plus the couple of other "B" forenames later generations came up with).
Aaaaaaargggggggg......
