"Flu" Jab??

Post by grangers14 »

I have my "flu" jab tomorrow. Not had it for 2 years because I have had a cold or flu at the time.
If you have had it have you been ok?
Always makes me concerned, not sure if I should have it or not.

    From NHS
    http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Flu/Pages/Prevention.aspx

    Seasonal flu jab
Regular immunisation (vaccination) is given free of charge to the following at-risk people, to protect them from seasonal flu:

    people aged 65 or over,
people with a serious medical condition (see box, right),
people living in a residential or nursing home,
the main carers for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer becomes ill,
healthcare or social care professionals directly involved in patient care, and
those who work in close contact with poultry, such as chickens.

You can pay for it yourself though if you are not in the "at risk" group.
