Over dinner convo

Post by Northern Lass »

Are you the family that sit down around the table and chat or is it trays on knees and Tv.
I have to hold my hands up and say that we are TV and trays ( only cos of Wolvies clicking jaw! so annoying!)
but on Sundays I do make an effort, and do a roast ....well some Sundays

And when we do have this veritable feast!
We always have a good old chinwag, about anything and anyone!
The other day for example we were talking about a casual acquaintance and their nervousness when talking to us all
and wondering if this was a problem they had in normal convo with others or just with certain folk. That then got us analysing how we react
with different people and our perceptions of them and them of us.
All good stuff and very interesting when you drill down to our body language and how that interfaces with our speech!
Then we talked about football and I fell asleep

What do you talk about at the dinner table, or does it end in debate and arguement!

I hate sitting with a tray on my lap watching tv!! Hate it!!
Being the tyrant i am i do not allow that in my house!!!
People can be many things to diferent people.Body language is very important when conversing with each other and that influences the way we react.
That's why chatting on the internet is so popular. We can be who we want to be and no one will be any wiser.
I'm really a woman pretending to be a man and those photos are of my husband who is a complete idiot and completely computer ignorant!
Could be true?

I think the art of convo is dead anyway
Everyone always wants to get the last word, the edge...no debate anymore
Precious egos and the fear of being wrong!

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
