Nellie’s Mother I think was Eleanor Cralin (not sure how spelt) Buried Sedgley

Son Joseph Brassington Willetts b1916 ref DUD/283/146. DOB 24/11/1916
Married Sylvia Attwell 1938 St. James, Dudley DOB 17/6/1919

Brassington were well known and played in the orchestra at Dudley Hippodrome

There’s a lot of Willetts on BCC but not linked to Brassington

Trying to follow a story to see if there’s any truth in it.

So..we’ve established
Joseph Brassington -cordwainer
Father of
Joseph Brassington - Clerk
who married Eleanor Jane Craling 19/4/1968

In 1881 they lived at 7 Castle View Dudley
Daughter Nellie Josephine Brassington age 3.

The story is that Joseph and Eleanor had their own business and this is probable as he was a clerk and his father a cordwainer.
He died and 2yrs later Eleanor also died.

The children were taken to the workhouse but the maid kept Nellie Josephine.

Trying to find proof of this.

I come to a brick wall looking for Eleanor Brassington death certification.

So Nellie J would have been orphaned at age 13, her youngest brother only 11 so story could be true.
