"Notice" linking to burial/death of an ancestor?

Post by Waltzer7 »

Hi,

I have come across, "John Hill buried ye 29th October. Notice: Dec 17, 1776" on page 174 of Registers of the Church of St John the Baptist, Halesowen Part 3.
I'm wondering what does, "Notice" means? Is it because he died from unexplained death or...?

I have also seen the original parish register page, which is also in exact wording as the transcribed one.
