Charles William Witted 1811–1873
He is believed to have died in 1973 but I can find no record of his death anywhere.
His son born 1853 was also named Charles William Witted; any help tracing his
disappearance will be gratefully received. He was a respectable man who gave
evidence at the Old Bailey. Very well thought of and therefore strange that there
is no record ofhis death.
Birth 19 OCT 1811 in St Mary, Rotherhithe, Surrey, England
Death 1873?
He was a Freemason in the United Grand Lodge of England Freemason Membership.
A daughter was born in 1853 in Rotherhithe, and a son was born
in 1853 in the Sculcoates, (Hull) Reg. Area.
He married Mary Elizabeth Knowles 1818-1896 Wiki Knowles-7831 Family Search MM9K-D52

Just curious: what makes you think he died c1873? Is he still in the 1871 census? What is the last sighting you have for him?

Good question; I didn't record this, just picked it up somewhere from what someone else
posted. I did look in the 1871 Census, but didn't find anything. The last sighting is when
his daughter was born in 1856. I searched for Charles Witted on freeBMD 1856-1900 but
it found no record.
