Samuel Tibbetts born ca. 1898

Back on the site after a long absence!

I'm trying to unravel two Samuel Tibbetts; one born 30 April 1899 in Blackheath, the other in the BC area 24 November 1898. One of them married Bertha Coley in 1925 (Dudley 001/043/90), the other married Laura Milligan in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1932. Is anyone able to throw light on the parents of the Samuel who married Bertha Coley? (Bertha later married a Whitehouse after Samuel died). The Tyneside Samuel is believed to have been the other Samuel born in the BC, may have been in the army and died in 1976 in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I already have the Samuels in my files: one as the son of James and Alice (nee Pearson), the other as the son of Edward and Elizabeth (nee Bate).

Thanks you all for your help on this. I'm now convinced that the Samuel that married Laura Milligan was the son of James Tibbetts and Alice Pearson. The information that has been unearthed regarding Bate connections, convinced me that the Samuel that married Bertha was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (nee Bate).

Both Samuels had military connections. Bertha's Samuel was invalided from the army after the Great War. Laura's Samuel was a career soldier who served in the Royal Artillery; the births of their five children are registered in areas with army barracks. In 1939, Laura is working at Catterick Barracks.

So:

Samuel Tibbetts born 30 April 1899 was the son of James Tibbetts and Alice Pearson. He died in 1976. Married Laura Milligan in 1932.

Samuel Tibbetts born 24 November 1898 was the son of Edward Tibbetts and Elizabeth Bate. He died in 1945. Married Bertha Lily Coley in 1925.

Both these Samuels are my cousins; but they are NOT cousins to each other! Edward's father was my gg grandfather (William the son of Ann Willetts/Tibbetts).
