Should have gone to Barnard Castle!

Post by Northern Lass »

So the Cummings and goings eh of those in power!

I am disgusted that this Dominic Cummings has remained in his position.
Whilst everyone has made sacrifices and not driven miles to see elderly family,
or friends dying ...because they were the rules....it seems one rule for them and one for us.

Lots of people had childcare issues.
But surely if he had been following the guidelines ...once anyone in the family developed symptoms
STAY AT HOME!

So what does he do....not only does he drive 260 miles to self isolate....
with the possibility he might have to stop...and infect others...or break down and infect others.

He then decides hey lets go and test my eyesight by driving to specsavers....no sorry Barnard castle...wtf!!

I have never heard such a load of rubbish....so all those people that have been fined for going out
is this going to be their excuse......sorry officer I needed to test my eyesight by driving to a local beauty spot....or beach.

It doesn't make me feel good when I have self isolated and done what they have asked.
We have not driven to the beach or parks when we couldn't much as I would have loved to.
We have shopped for Elderly and queued with everyone else...believing we were making an effort.

Shame on him and on Boris for not sorting this.
I have never been a huge fan of Boris...but had sympathy for him when he got ill and felt he was getting
behind us all and steering when he returned to work, I thought ok give him a chance...he has been thru this
he is going to get us thru....but this just flies in the face of belief of expecting us to listen to him...and to trust him.

Boris...the people have been behind you, but this has left a nasty taste in our mouths.

ps...note to everyone ...Do not drive to test your eyesight....Go to an opticians!

Completely agree NL. Also if anything did go wrong while he was driving surely his insurance would be void?

Seems to me he ignored the rules he had helped to set for millions of people.
If he felt he had to travel...he should have on arrival stayed put!!
Not gone sightseeing....oh hang on he was testing his sight wasn't he!

Going driving to test your eyesight puts others in danger.
And may even be against the law...if he had any worries about his eyesight he shouldn't have driven but
gone to an optician.

We were all asked to self isolate.
At the cost of missing funerals and passing of loved ones.

He has not helped himself by his "rose garden" statement
Seems to me it has become a thorny subject for him!

Just my opinion mind! 8)

The guidance is... if you feel you have symptoms,
You Must Stay at Home for 7 days, do not go out. If there are other members in your household they Must Stay at Home for 14 days and do not go out.

That is fact and clear.

He did not do that.
What was he thinking?

I do not like how he has has the media around him as it has been. They are not social distancing!

"So how can I protect you in this crazy world
Its alright yeah
Its alright"

Legally he done nothing wrong, morally that may be a different story the media mob is why he ran to Durham in the first place as he was getting threats before he had the virus, and didn't want to leave his family isolated, walk a mile in his shoes who wouldn't of done the same I would off
