There is still a haulage firm Joseph Holloway Ltd operating today in Oldbury.Located just over the road from Eel Street,Churchbridge.Valencia Wharf.I wonder if this Joseph Holloway is descended from the ones on BCC? I can remember the barges as a kid going along the canal by The Whimsey Bridge. Usually Caggy Stevens would be at he helm.

Fascinating to research Boat Families as they changed spelling of surnames names and locations of birth frequently also relationships and ages.
Was this because they were continually on move or because poor education ?
