Re: John Thompson 1876-1935
Lee Thompson, born abt 1845, West Bromwich, s of Leonard Thompson b abt 1809, Wednesbury, and Ann Emuss, b abt 1812, Birmingham.
The Emuss family (various spellings e.g. Eamus, Emus etc) are interesting : Ann's father, Robert, born in Droitwich, moved to Birmingham, where he was a baker, became bankrupt and spent time in Warwick Jail as an undischarged debtor. He then moved to Wolverhampton with his family, where he continued as a baker. There are numerous descendants in the Wolverhampton area - anyone of this name you come across locally are his descendants.

Thanks, Jimmy
That birthplace is Hill Top, not (amusing though it is!) Shell Pots - I'm sure you realised that.
That last son is 'Jesse'

Re: John Thompson 1876-1935
That's as far back as I can go with the Thompsons - now to come forwards and fill in the children:
John Thompson & Ann had the following children bapt at Wednesbury:
Lee bapt 28 Aug 1807
Leonard bapt 25 Dec 1809. He was a Coach Spring Maker in Hill Top, West Bomwich. Married Ann Emuss, as above.
Jesse bapt 29 March 1812. He married Jane Trout (b abt 1807), 21 May 1835, Old Church, St Pancras, London - as unlikely as that may seem her maiden name confirmed by birth reg of daughter Elizabeth in March quarter 1839, West Bromwich. Jesse and Jane had one other known child, Thomas, b 9 March 1836, bapt 24 Apr 1836, Old Church, St Pancras - I haven't yet found much about them after 1841, but Jesse appears to have died West Bromwich in 1879. In 1871 Jesse, widowed, was boarding with a Sarah Nowell in West Bromwich and there was a Henry Thompson, aged 12, b London, in same household.
