1861 Census Help?

Post by morrwilcox »

Can anyone find the following family in the 1861 census?

Here they are in the 1851 census:

Richard Tarry; Head; Male; 37; Ag Lab; Born Steventon, Berkshire
Sophia Tarry; Wife; 30; Born Abingdon, Berkshire
Eliza Tarry; 10; Dau: Scholar; Born Drayton, Berkshire
Charles Tarry; 7; Son; Scholar; Born Drayton, Berkshire
Shadrach Tarry; 5; Son; Scholar; Born Steventon, Berkshire
James Tarry; 3; Son; Born Steventon, Berkshire

Here they are in the 1871 census:

Richard Tarry; Head; 57; Born Berkshire, England
Sophia Tarry; Wife; 50; Born Berkshire, England
Alfred T Tarry; Son; 17; Born Berkshire, England
Daniel Tarry; Son; 11; Born Berkshire, England
Alice Tarry; Dau; 6; Born Berkshire, England

And here are a few noteworthy things:

I have Eliza Tarry in the 1861 as a servant in Sutton Wick, Abingdon, age 20.
I've been presuming that all other children seen in the 1851 census would still be with their parents in 1861, but I could be wrong.

I think Richard and Sophia also have these four children between 1851 and 1861, who may appear with them in the 1861 census:

TARRY, ISAAC [DANIEL]
GRO Ref: 1850 J Quarter in ABINGDON Vol: 06 Pg: 145

TARRY, ALFRED THOMAS [DANIEL]
GRO Ref: 1853 D Quarter in ABINGDON Vol: 02C Pg: 234

TARRY, EMMA MATILDA [DANIELS]
GRO Ref: 1856 J Quarter in ABINGDON Vol: 02C Pg: 287

TARRY, DANIEL RICHARD [DANIEL]
GRO Ref: 1859 J Quarter in ABINGDON Vol: 02C Pg: 276

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure why I didn't come across them, I always search with name variants, and wildcards.
But thank you! Exactly what I needed!
