*Archived * Farley Family
Hi
I'm a descendant of the Farley line.
I have a copy of the marriage entry for William Farley from the Parish Register.
1852, Marriage solemnized at The Parish Church in the Parish of Hales Owen
No: 147
William FARLEY, aged 19, Bachelor, Nailer, Hasbury, Samuel FARLEY, Labourer, x mark of William Farley
Fanny SHARRETT, aged 18, Spinster, Nailer, Hasbury, Henry SHARRETT, Nailer, x mark of Fanny Sharrett
Witnesses: Thomas Brettell and x mark of Elizabeth Brettell.
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =547362921
I noticed that you only record her as Fanny Farley on BCC.
I have other info on the Farley line, but want to look at the census records to make sure that my file is fully uptodate and including the 1911 census.
Can someone with access please update the file.
Thanks
Sue
PS: even though I have a copy of the parish register, I have checked FreeBMD and UKBMD and IGI to ensure that the details match.

Re: Farley Family
Can someone just double check something for me.
On:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =255749440
Samuel Farley, son of William and Fanny is recorded as being born in 1861.
From the previous entries on this post/topic, the 1861 census records:
1861: Spring Hill, Hasbury, Worc
William Farley 26 Head Nailer
Fanny Farley 25 Wife Nailer
Samuel Farley 9 Son
William Farley 7 Son
Mary A Farley 5 Dau
Jane Farley 3 Son
Ellen Farley 1 Dau
This would indicate that Samuel was born in 1852 and his brother William being born 1854.
There is a marriage for a Samuel Farley on the IGI:
Marriages:
Spouse: ELIZABETH HAYES
Marriage: 26 JUN 1872 Halesowen, Worcester, England
Husband Age at Marriage: 20
Wife Age at Marriage: 19
This ties in with the IGI and the marriage indexes, unfortunately there is no entry on UKBMD.
However, the 1901 census records the father in law as HAYES, which ties in with the marriage details.
The census for Samuel and Elizabeth are:
The 1881 census:
FARLEY, Samuel ,Head, Married, M, 28, 1853, Nail Maker, Hales Owen, Worcestershire
FARLEY, Elizabeth Wife Married F 27 1854 Nail Maker, Hales Owen Worcestershire
FARLEY, William Son Single M 8 1873 Scholar Hales Owen Worcestershire
FARLEY, Emma Daughter Single F 6 1875 Scholar Hales OwenWorcestershire
Address: Quarry Hill, Hasbury
The 1891 census: (I believe that the Harbury should be Hasbury)

FARLEY, Ellen Daughter F 4 1887 Scholar Harbury Worcestershire VIEW
FARLEY, Walter Son M 1 1890 Harbury Worcestershire VIEW
Address: Wall Well, Hasbury, Worcestershire
The 1901 census:
Samuel Farley 48
Elizabeth Farley 47
Walter Farley 11
Harry Farley 5
William Hayes 82 (widowed father in law)
Address: Wall Well, Hasbury,
The 1911 census:
FARLEY, Samuel, 59, Miner Timberer
FARLEY Elizabeth 58, married 39 years
FARLEY Nellie 24, Nail Maker Spike
FARLEY Walter 21 Colliery Labourer Above Ground
FARLEY, Harry, 15, Moulder in Iron Foundry
Address: Cherry Street, Hawne, Halesowen
Also on the same page on the 1901 census are other Farley's (RG13; Piece: 2750; Folio: 144; Page: 21.)
My Dad used to tell me that my Farley ancestors came from Wall Well.
Do you think that this is definite enough to add to BCC?
