Brilliana Gould - were there two Brilliana Goulds?

Post by Waltzer7 »

Hi,

I have come across "two" daughters of John (1725) and Martha Gould (1726): -

Brilliana Gould who was born on 7 June 1749, baptised during 1755, married William Golden at Halesowen on 7 April 1775 and died on 3 April 1799.

There is another Brilliana Gould who was baptised during 1749 and died on 21 July 1751.

Is there a mistake or were both daughters actually christened with the same name - Brilliana? :?

Hi Peter,

Many thanks for clarifying. I have noticed some have same names but usually one is named after the first named child had passed away.

I have noticed that it is harder going further back than 1700s & wondering why?

less records and didn't have to register births so we have to use christening records
