Post by mumbles »

Marriage Looked up by RF
31 Oct 1858 St. Thomas Dudley
William POOLE F B Labourer Dudley Father John Poole (Dec) Labourer
Sarah GROUCUTT F S Dudley Father William Groucutt Miner
After Banns The X Of Both
Wit; William Holdnall? / Mary Ann Knott? X

I think this could be William and Sarah :-
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =946024907

but cannot find William before or after Marriage
or Sarah and Her Father before marriage

Sarah appears in 1881 as unmarried and as widow in 1891 and 1901

Well spotted grangers14

I have checked births and it would appear children were all registered as Poole
So Sarah was probably unmarried and lived with William Woodward.
Son Edward Poole put William Poole dec. Rivet Maker on marriage cert. but no William Poole existed

The other Groucutt/Poole connection is a red herring

Will look for Sarah Poole before 1871

Cannot find Sarah before 1871

The Groucutt/Poole Marriage would be better moved to new thread
