Mundia to go

Post by SRD »

I got an email yesterday informing me that Ancestry are closing their Mundia project and incorporating the trees into Ancestry.com. They were advising people to download copies of their gedcoms on Mundia. They also say that access to people who had trees on Mundia but in the future will be on Ancestry will be free.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Are the public trees free to view if you go on ancestry but don't have an account?
When I looked a little while ago you had to be a member of Ancestry to view the trees

You didn't used to have to be......and I bet some people have uploaded their trees as a public tree
to help others.....and want everyone to see it not just Ancestry paying people.
Not everyone can afford their prices :?

I am with Ancestry ,and my tree is private. When I cancelled my subscription they stopped me from seeing all my censuses.I complained ,and they said I was no longer a member . I told them that when I was a member I had paid for them ,and therefore I was entitled to still see them . I can no longer see any tree's or talk to other tree owners unless they get in touch with me first . I am still allowed the free BMD ,and the 1881. I just wait for free days , then I go mad pressing buttons
