Re: Problems with: FMP. Let me Know!
It's certainly not as easy as it was.
I tried to search for records I knew about, just to get the hang of it - it wasn't easy, and a specific search turned up nothing (even though I double checked the info). I only found the correct record when I bracketed dates considerably as well as widening the geographical area. This obviously turned up many results, including the one I was looking for. When I double checked the info I'd initially used for the search it matched the record - but strangly that record doesn't appear when using a narrow search!

Re: Problems with: FMP. Let me Know!
Used this month as I'd obtained a free pass.
I've found that unlike Ancestry find my past doesn't give you the suggestions for the same person
ie: if looking at 1901 census it doesnt give where applicable 1901\1891 marriage, etc
And as sparks said couldn't find ancestors I had found before .
Thanks good luck for tomorrow, look forward to hearing how you got on x

Re: Problems with: FMP. Let me Know!
Had meeting last night at 'The Mailbox' Birmingham. Meeting carried out in 'Market Research' format.
6 out of the 7 invited guests agreed that the present FMP was not as easy to negotiate as the the old.
various heading were discussed and we were assured that updates were ongoing, more records being
added every day. The introduction of the 'Newspaper Records' was praised by guests, but it was suggested
that the article requested should be 'highlighted' as is done on Ancestry. The search procedure was criticised
by guests, in as much as that ' searching for an individual' with specific details usually came to '0' (nothing),
better to search with a broader aspect... In all, we were assured that FMP would take these remarks in
hand and act on them as the site was in its infancy and still being updated.
Finally almost everyone agreed that they had become better acquainted with the new system, the more
they used it. HOWEVER...it would be more difficult to users new to the site and to genealogy.

FMP are also thinking of introducing a 'Forum' similar to what we have here:
for subscribers to ask for and/or give help....
