Berlin

Post by nessa »

My eldest daughter has heard this morning she was successful yesterday at a job interview in Berlin, I wish she wasn't going to move to Berlin but she needs to take this opportunity after a traumatic year for her.
On the plus side I am looking forward to holidays in Germany.

Congratulations for your daughter :-)
Berlin is supposed to be a great place to live, and as you say holidays should be good.

Its awful when they move away isn't it? But I wish her well and you can enjoy some nice holidays too!
BC Wench should have given your daughter her parcel to deliver! At least she knows where she is going.

That's good to know, still seems like a long way from home though.

My son and his partner are in Guangdong China. We wont see them for a year. I was passed myself with worry when the typhoon was there, waiting to hear from them after they were evacuated
Skype is good to keep in touch!

It's not quite as far as it seems. Skype is cheap, and yes I know that it's not the same, but going back to when I first moved to Denmark phoning was really expensive. Until my parents moved down to my sister, I probably saw them as much as she did, as they had a four hour drive to visit her. My visits were more concentrated (and still are), but it's relatively easy and cheap to visit home just for a few days. We're over for a long weekend in November, and the flights are about £100 for us both. If we only took hand luggage it'd be even cheaper. Of course B&B is free once we arrive!!
