on the 1851 Timothy has a Betsy Mills with them neice aged 18

and on 1841 at Titford Lane on oppo page is ...

I've been looking at this issue for some time, and much of what I've found out has already been posted.

However, I can add the following ....

St Martins, Birmingham, parish records should show the marriage of:
23/10/1809 Timothy Hazlewood Hannah Whitehouse
(though I haven't been able to check this as I can't currently get access to Birmingham parish records).

St John the Baptist, Halesowen, parish records show the marriage of:
04/09/1825 James Hazlewood Phoebe Slim

(Also I'm fairly sure that John Hazlewood dies and is buried on 06/05/1832 at St John the Baptist, Halesowen, though his age at burial is recorded as 2 months, rather than 2 years)

Hence it looks to me like Timothy Hazlewood's father has been recorded incorrectly on his marriage to Emma Downing.

James Hazlewood 20 feb 1803 is my 2nd great grandfather, He married Phoebe Slim 4 sep 1825 at St Johns Halesowen . I have photograph copy of original taken from the Hive .

Mother : Hannah Born abt 1765

There were nine children in all that i can find
All Baptized in Presbyterian Church in Oldbury , and I have copy's of all the original transcripts .

I have been trying to find the link between Hannah Hazlewood (born c 1766) and Timothy Hazlewood (born 26/09/1790, Baptised 24/10/1790) both living in Titford Lane Oldbury in 1841 Census, via the Nancy Mills who is shown living with Hannah Hazlewood in 1841. I was fairly sure that this Hannah Hazlewood is Timothy Hazlewood's mother, but needed to try and find some further evidence.

Haven't yet managed to find any suitable Christening or Marriage records for Nancy Hazlewood, so looks like she was Christened with another name, Anne or Agnes?

I can trace her forward to ....

Also I think Nancy Mills's children were:
Hannah Mills - born 31/03/1812, Baptised 17/03/1833 ???, Parents Thomas & Nancy Mills, Living in Rowley (records of Presbyterian Chapel, Oldbury) - think she might have been Baptised in preparation for marriage, but not located the marriage record yet
William Mills - born c 1817
Phoebe Mills - born c 1819 (should be a marriage record at Harborne, 09/05/1841 for Phoebe Mills (daughter of Thomas Mills) and William Summers (son of Thomas Summers) - but I haven't got the marriage record or seen the parish record yet)
Jonah Mills - born c 1823
Betsy Mills - born c 1833/34

Possible burial for Thomas Mills on 22/09/1833 in Bromsgrove (not seen yet)

I've found whole issue regarding Nancy Mills very confusing. Firstly, Mills is such a common surname. Secondly, there are several Nancy Mills around and about at this time. Finally, that Nancy appears to be a nickname and hence not likely to be the name she would be recorded as using when Christened, or married ??? or buried ??? !!!!!!!

Nearly forgot .....

I recently acquired a death certificate for Hannah Hazlewood with the following ....

Death on 03/01/1844, Hannah Hazlewood, age 80, wife of William Hazlewood deceased, informant - mark of Nancy Mills present at the death, Titford Lane Oldbury, registered 04/01/1844

So I think I've established the link on the 1841 Census for Titford Lane Oldbury between Hannah Hazlewood (mother) and Timothy Hazlewood (son).

However, this still doesn't clarify the relationship to Nancy Mills (living with Hannah Hazlewood), and I haven't even started on William and Mary Hazlewood (neighbours) yet !!!!

There are two daughters named Ampeass. James Daughter who died after her marriage to William England , and his brother Joseph Hazlewood's and Hannah Granger's daughter who married Thomas Sidaway .

via son Henry (aka Harry) Hazlewood d c 1887 and Alice Darby b c 1882 (my grandparents)
via son James Hazlewood b 02/08/1913 and Florence Janet Mary Blount b 14/01/1915 (my parents)

I only have some of the BMD records for these, and for others I have relied on Census records and family oral history, so can't supply a fully documented connection yet.

My further connections to:
William Hazlewood, b c 1762 and Hannah Unknown b c 1764
are either:
via son James Hazlewood b c 1803 (as the marriage for Timothy Hazlewood and Emma Downing records)
or:
via son Timothy Hazlewood b 26/09/1790 (as I think is the case)
