Yes it was 47 years ago today that we won The Jules Rimet Cup. :thumbup:
I watched the final in a boarding house just off The Golden Mile, Blackpool.

I was only 14 , I don't think I would be doing much. Most likely in the front room playing Beatle records ,and swooning over John Lennon . :wink:

Missed most of the 1st: half, attending a shop fire on the
Soho Rd,Handsworth. Got back just before half time and
watched the 2nd: at the station.

I was at boarding school and the school bought a TV specifically to let the boys watch the World Cup.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Preparing to leave the Nunawading Migrant Hostel where most of us £10 pommies went when arriving in Victoria.

Mum and Dad were renting a house in Boronia whilst our new house was being built.

Been living in Boronia ever since.

It wold be good to see them at least get to the semi finals next year!!!!

Too young to remember, but was told that as we had the only tv in the street there were lost of people around.
