ARC TBC...............Willam Baker puzzle

Post by mumbles »

This William Baker
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =277845821
On Ancestry has this Jane Baker as his daughter and marriage to Sarah Newey 0n 24/7/1816

Jane Baker and William are already on bcc
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... =152643752

Then on 1841 , 1851 and 1861 Census
we have :-
1841 Census Springsmire Dudley Worcs.
William Baker Head Miner born in County
Sarah Baker wife 40
Joseph Baker 15
William Baker 13
Aber Baker (male) 11
Selina Baker 9
S.A. Baker 7
C.E. Baker 3 born in County
Rest not born in county

1851 Census Springsmire Dudley Worcs.
William Baker Head 58 Coal Miner born Brierley Hill Staffs.
Sarah Baker wife 55 born Coseley Staffs.
Sarah A. Stanford dau.in.law (single) 20 Tailoress born Kingswinford Staffs.
Esther E. Baker dau 13 born Dudley Worcs.

1861 Census Springsmire Dudley Worcs.
Sarah Baker Head 65 (wid) born Sedgley Staffs.
Sarah Ann Kibs ( Hibbs ?) 24 born Springsmire Worcs.
Moses Jones lodger 24 Blacksmith
Ester Elizabeth Jones lodger 23
Sarah Jane Jones lodger 2
Rest born Springsmire Worcs

Sarah Ann Stanford married James Hibbs in 1854 and James appeared to have died as in 1865 Sarah Ann Hibbs married Joseph France
Marriage St. James Dudley 1865
Joseph France Bach. 45 father John France
Sarah Ann Hibbs (wid) 33 father Jonathan Stanford

If Sarah A. Stanford is shown as dau.in.law in 1851 to William Baker and Sarah how can her father be Stanford ?

Found a few doors up from Sarah Baker in 1851

1851 Census Springs Mire Dudley Worcs.
Joseph Stanford Head 25 Coal Miner born Kingswinford Staffs.
Matilda Stanford wife 24 Nailer
Thomas Stanford son 3
James Hibbs lodger 20 Coal Miner born Bitton Gloucs.
Abraham Stanford visitor 20 Coal Miner born Kingswinford Staffs.
Mabel Raybould servant 18 House Servant
Rest born Dudley Worcs.

This must be the James Hibbs that Sarah Ann Stanford married
and Stanford family must be her relatives

So is that marriage now to Sarah Newey not correct mumbles

Sarah marries a Jonathan Stanford then a Wm Baker

so those kids for Wm Baker could be his and his first wife.

And Jane could be Wm Baker and unknowns child.............born Shropshire

how do we know Jane links to that Wm Baker?

So we must have 2 Jonathans and Sarahs

cos Caroline b 1839 and mary Elizabeth father is an engineer.

there was a marriage to a Jonathan Stanford and Sarah Petos? in 1834 ...cant remember where

so one in 1816
another 1834 .......................and later kids are the petos ones

that would work?

I found this online but cannot find now :-

Sarah Ann Stanford married James Hibbs in 1854 and James appeared to have died as in 1865 Sarah Ann Hibbs married Joseph France
Marriage St. James Dudley 1865
Joseph France Bach. 45 father John France
Sarah Ann Hibbs (wid) 33 father Jonathan Stanford

This ties up Stanford and Hibbs link but this is contradicted by William Baker and Sarah being related to Sarah Ann Stanford unless latter being shown as dau.in. law is a red herring.
The Jane Baker on bcc is linked to William Baker and Sarah Newey on Ancestry but no validation and Wedding of Jane Baker does not help oth than shows father as William Baker
