ARC TBC Hitchman & Horn-Aston, Stourbridge, Wst Brom-
Hi, I am new to the forum but the Hitchman family that I am interested in has already featured a few years ago. Please see link attached:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... man-Family
I am researching James Thomas Hitchman (JTH) b. 1869 in Aston, Warwicks. I have a copy of his birth certificate and it shows that his mother was Elizabeth Hitchman, formerly Horn, and his father was William Hitchman, a Spade Tree maker. I also have a copy of JTH's marriage certificate which shows his father was William Hitchman, a handle maker.
I have found birth records for some of who I think are JTH"™s siblings as follows:
Sarah Ann Horn - born to Elizabeth Horn in West Bromwich on 21st Feb 1851 (no father"™s name is given on the birth cert)
John Hitchman Horn - born in West Bromwich in 1852 (info from index, no cert seen)
William Horn Hitchman - born in Aston in 1855 (info from index, no cert seen)
Richard Hitchman - born in Sheffield, Yorks in 1864. I have a copy of his birth certificate that shows that his mother is Elizabeth Hitchman formerly Horn and his father was William Hitchman, Spade Shaft maker.
The family has been traced on the 1861, 71, 81 and 91 census always living in Aston, Warwicks. Although I have been told that JTH spoke with a Sheffield accent!
I am unable to find JTH's parents William Hitchman b. abt 1825 in Stourbridge and Elizabeth Horn b. abt 1827 in Solihull and Sarah Ann Horn, aged one month, on the 1851 census.
I have searched for them individually and as a family as Hitchmans (Hickmans) and Horns and not been able to find them. I did find an Elizabeth Thorn b. 1827, birth place Solihull, on the 1851 census at St Georges Hospital Birmingham. Her occupation is Domestic and she is stated to be married. Could it be her?
Also I can't find the marriage of William Hitchman and Elizabeth Horn.
Any thoughts or advice would be most welcome.

WILLIAM HARPER
Thomas Owen
ELIZABETH HORN
Mary Wilkes.
