Just had yet another cold call, my hubby answered the phone - it went like this...

Caller: Good afternoon sir - so and so calling from Consumer Survey, can I have a few minutes of your time?
Hubby: Sorry, i'm decorating at the moment
Caller: It's just to answer some questions
Hubby:..with a paintbrush in my hand?
Caller: Can you put the paintbrush down?
Hubby: I'll put the paintbrush down your ####### throat in a minute!!

hubby then terminated the call

How rude!!
He could have spared the time.

He wasn't even decorating Rob!

Tell him paint brushes cost money foot up the backside cheaper

I think he should have answered the questions too Rob

I am with you on that no need for rudeness is there Rob eh!

If the are calling from within Australia I will give them a few minutes of my time. They are only trying to earn a wage after all.

If they are from an Indian call center I will tell them politely that I am not interested. If their company doesn't want to employ people living in Australia then I don't want their product.

I just tell them to go away

Yeh but after the fifth one in 2hrs it get tiering

Normally I get onto the subject of Genealogy and then hear the dial tone

I had noticed that.

I tell them I am not interested and put phone down.

I pretend to be 'Stone deaf' and keep asking them to
repeat everything,till they get fedup and put the phone
down.

I just wish I could be so blunt!
I end up talking politely for ages

It's all about empathy isn't it dont you think?

You know they need what you are selling
They dont know that they need what you are selling
but after you have "re educated" them they will sign anything

that is the mark of a good sales person

I only buy what I want, not what someonw is trying to sell, if I am interested in something I go looking for the best price.
