Benjamin Tromans

Post by Silver surfer »

Have shown the results of your magnificent efforts in tracing Benjamin Tromans with father Ben to his descendant and there was a bit of ooh-ahh when they read the note that he was classed as an idiot in one of the censuses. He said his aunt talked of her gd father and said he was a bit soft in the head. So they were right. Wonder why it was only on the one census?

Hi SS thanks for coming back with info on that

Awful the way they classified people
mind he did ok had a job and a family

In gathering the facts sometimes I think we forget that there are real people involved
it sometimes becomes a little analytical.
I think I got a real shock when I discovered things about my ancestors that showed them up to be quite brutal.
