I am not sure about any of this Rf, I am now wondering if Joseph and James were brothers. They both were born in Halesowen , They both lived in Darby End, James lived 102 Netherton Road at one end of Darby End,Joseph lived 30 Darby End, Ampleass lived with Joseph Sidaway at 26 Darby end ,and the Sideways also lived in Darby End. I have found today that Joseph was also a saddler in 1851 but later changed his profession where James did not change his profession as saddler .Did they have two daughters with the same name one marrying William England and dying in the first year of marriage, the other marrying Joseph Sidaway. Either way it seems to me that it is more possible that the father on the marriage is correct, and that it might have been James's child that died. As regards James being a grocer he was when Esther got married but was also still a saddler. :(
