Spam E Mail

Post by Antie Em »

I received an e mail yesterday from someone who I had had previous contact with at the Drama Workshops in Oldbury. Didn't understand the heading, but thought it should be OK because it was from her. It wasn't a virus, as I have full Norton cover, but it was recruiting people to make money on the internet, obviously pushing spam.

Because I opened it, it somehow was forwarded on to everyone in my address book and I know I have e mail addresses for people on here.

It's not dangerous, but if you did received an e mail from me ,do not open it, or the same thing could happen. BT and Norton have both remotely accessed my computer this morning and thankfully, I have no viruses. Do have a nasty lump on my neck though - but the doctor will have to sort that one later on this afternoon :-)

the best way to spot these type of emails that goes through some ones contacts and sends the spam/virus on is that there will be no subject heading so dont open it you then can send that person an email to check but dont use the automatic reply
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

It did have a heading Pete - which is why I opened it. Normally if there is no subject I don't. I did know this lady though, so, although I didn't quite understand the title, I thought it would be OK.

Have no idea how it works Jan - but BT and Yahoo didn't seem that surprised. You have to open it first though, and then it is forwarded to everyone in your address list. To be honest though, I did have 32 undeliverable mails, which really is the only way I knew it had happened.

A Puk Code is a code you provider will give you to get you back into your phone if you become locked out.

I didnt click the link but opened the email.
It had Maggie as subject.
But I did think odd thats why I said.
Its easy done. Wish the people who do it could spend thier time doing something more worthwhile!
