39 degrees tomorrow...

Post by MarkCDodd »

And summer hasn't started yet....

They are predicting the hottest summer in 30 years.

I can't do a thing if it is above the mid 30's. It is the worst thing for my narcolepsy.

I just hope we don't have the bushfires like a couple of years ago.

They have been testing the new fire alarms the last couple of days.

People are now confused about whether to stay or flee.

The authorities are now thinking about compulsory evacuations if the fire chiefs agree on a level of severity.

My mate says stop complaining. Where his farm is they are expecting 44 degrees.

He is right next to a desert so that is no surprise.

I can rug up and handle the cold. I can't take a portable air conditioner with me to handle the heat.

I suppose it will be the elderly that suffer in either case.

I have just checked on my 90 year old neighbor to make sure she has the air-con going.

If it'll be the worst winter in years, I don't like the sound of that - the last three have been bad enough! Two years ago it snowed at the end of December and stayed until March, the year after that it started a month earlier, but lasted again until March. Last year it was mild until after Christmas, but we had a month of cold snowy weather and temeperatures of minus 20!! Before this run of bad winters, you had to go back 14 years for a bad winter.

On the other hand, my husband will be happy - he'll get to use his cross country skis again!
