Thank god the suns out. Kept looking out the window last night. 12.30 i went to bed. Hubby kept saying "it will be al right",and it was . River is only over the road from us ,but we are on a hill ,but wet lands have been built in Pershore to help with floods. My granddaughter was sent home early from school ,but she is ok where they live. Keeping fingers crossed weather will not be too bad the weekend. Hate this rain !! Dt :-)

Just been over the road to look how far the river has come up. Its not too bad" touch wood". Evesham and Stratford on Avon seem to have had the worse. The Severn at Worcester is now rising and the barriers have gone up at Upton, and Bewdley. Kempsy in Worcester was hit quite badly last night. Keep fingers crossed the rain stops. Dt :-) Ps Hope you all don't mind my winging , helps me to relax writing it all down. :-)

its suppose to get cold so it will ease up on the rain as clear skies ?

Monday 3 December"”Sunday 16 December

Winter's here, and on balance it does looks cold

Even at this long timescale there is greater than average uncertainty for the first full fortnight of December. However, the balance of probability does point to this period being colder than average, which would lead to an increased risk of frost and fog.

However there still could be some rain at times, although this presently looks most like to occur over northwestern parts of the UK. This could, coupled with the colder-than-normal theme, lead to a risk of snow, mainly but not exclusively over high ground.
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

How my garden has looked on two different days in the last week. This was taken Sunday. Chickens have now been moved to the safety of the patio. Traffic chaos in Worcester, due to Hylton Road being closed, as deeply flooded. The flood barrier worked but it seems the pumps they installed, to clear the drains, either aren't working at all, or, aren't up to the job.

I should be going to college in Redditch tonight, for my German Course. As so much of the journey is across country, in the dark, I'm not sure whether I should go. I really hope this rain eases off for a while, I know my problems are small compared to others but It's still disrupting my life.

My heart goes out to all those people who have lost their homes. This government should stop winging about the dept the labour party left them in ,( excuse for not giving money out), and stop giving money to countries that do not need it. Stop listening to Brussels, and start helping its own people. Dredge the rivers ,sort out our Victorian sewers, and give home owners the help they need to make their homes secure from flooding. :( Dt

The first thing that should be done is stop building on flood plains unless there 3 storey house with the garage and untilty ocupying the groung floor and wire the elctrics so the sockets are high

I very much agree with you Pete. We made the mistake of leaving a house on the Malvern Hills to live in a new build on the river Avon . It was very much regretted . They were built with flooding in mind, and our garage was on the bottom floor, but the fear and what we heard and sew for four days in the Easter floods of 1998 was enough to make us want to leave. The home we live in now is dated 1750 and at the moment as never flooded, but of cause you should never say never. I do believe that they knew where not to build. Unfortunately our councils do not. As the flood plains get built on so houses like mine are in danger. Its all very sad and I do not know what the future holds. Dt

Maybe the Dutch engineers should come over. They are reputed to be the world's best at managing the dangers of flooding.
I live on land that was once a lake. The Dutch drained it 200 years ago and built dykes to keep the water at bay.
We are under sea level but never any problem with floods.
