Cadman - peterd adding

Post by dudleytaylor »

Hi I am new to this forum, so please bear with me,I have a family tree, which i really enjoy ,but now and again i need extra help for finding things like, how to obtain electoral rolls etc. There are a few family names that cause me a headache.CADMAN is one and also Taylor.I have found alot about them after they have married but nothing before. The one i am working on at the moment is Thomas Cadman 2nd Great Grandfather Born 1826 - death 1860 in Dudley. in 1851 census,Living with mother in law
SPOUSE: Ann Rebecca Bowater
Children: Sarah Jane
Rosannah
John
Elizabeth
Priscilla, my great grandmother 1859-1924- married to Joseph Badley
Ann Rebecca.
In 1861 census for his wife Ann Rebecca, she is now a widow .I think that Thomas might have been killed in a mining accident , I have read three newspaper reports on the incident that said a Thomas Cadman killed leaving wife and six children ,but his age was not the same as my Thomas,But i am only going on the one census i have saying he was born in1826.I am only going by the 1861 census and the birth of his last child to calculate his death year. I cannot find his parents , i have wasted hours going through other family's with the same name. What do you think is the best thing to do now.

Hi every one , thanks for your help ,but i have spent hours on the family you suggest, Their Thomas was still alive living with his mother , classed as a widower ,in 61, and his employment was not a miner. My Thomas Cadman was a miner . I will have to either send for his birth or death certificate. Many thanks to all , :? Dudleytaylor

The marriage may help.
There is a section for look ups,
viewforum.php?f=85

If you look on there and add the marriage details
CADMAN Ann R QUINTON George 1863 Pensnett, St Mark West Midlands Dudley Register Office 214/002/159

If someone has time to go to the records office they will post back to you on there.
You will see how to ask for a look up too.

you mean 1851 census and he might of been a miner in 1851 but doesnt say he was a miner in 1841 ?

Dudley may not be where he was born too. Theres a couple in Kingswinford as miners around the right age.
The marriage should give fathers name to check.
