Neil Armstrong - R.I.P

One of my child hood super heroes. What a brave, intelligent and modest man.

I remember initially being upset because the live coverage of the moon landing meant my World Championship Wrestling and Roller Derby were not going to be on.

But I sat there in the big leather chair with my dad and held my breath as they came in to land and then watched astounded as they stepped onto the moon.

It was a change from all the pictures of Vietnam where out young men were being forced to fight and die.

It gave us hope that the human kind was capable of more than just creating better and more efficient ways to kill each other.

Even at my age I knew it was a punch in the face to those monsters from the USSR.

His footprints on the moon will last for eternity. So will his place in history.

RIP Neil Armstrong
A very brave man.
I remember too watching with my Dad. Moving the dial on the tv and the coat hanger to see it better!

He walked on the moon now he can rest in Heaven.Respect Neil.
