Post by expat66 »

Another lookup provided by RF thankyou

30 Jan 1870 All Saints West Bromwich
David HOLLYOAK 35 B Brick Maker West Bromwich Father John Hollyoak Brick Maker
Anne TAYLOR 28 S West Bromwich Father Stephen Taylor Victualler
After Banns Both Signed
Wit; GH Shaw? EE Purser

Anne lists here father as Stephen, victualler.

There is this one?? but the Ann aged 6 listed here as niece not daughter??

1851. Swan Village, West Bromwich
Stephen Taylor,32, head, married, licensed brewer, born Brewood
Ann,38,wife, born Brewood
John Holloway ???, 19,son, born Wolverhampton sorry- can't make out the rest of his name! :?
Frederick Taylor,34,brother, unmarried, coal miner born Wolverhampton
Ann Taylor,6, niece, born West Bromwich

Ann's mother is Ann Taylor according to the census for 1871 and 1881

1871. 2,Great Bridge St, West Bromwich
Ann Taylor,68,widow, house owner, born Tipton
David Hollyoak,36,son-in-law, brick & tile maker
Ann Hollyoak,29,daughter
Others born West Bromwich

1881. 78,Great Bridge Street,West Bromwich
Ann Taylor,72,head,widow, annuitant?, born Tipton
David Hollyoak,45,son-in-law,brickmaker
Annie Hollyoak,39,daughter
Others born West Bromwich

Any thoughts?

I would think that niece means she is niece to Stephens brother Frederick.
