My names Steve. Ive been collecting what information I can for years now but its been mostly from the internet so I guess I will be pestering people about what to do in the real world. Im quite lucky in having family names to search which are quite unusual Topp, Cowburn and Craddicks but I think some of my ancestors must have been hidding under the bed during the differant census's.

hi Steve, Welcome to the forum
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Re: Hi
HI Steve and welcome
Unusual names are a blessing and a curse -- they can be easy to follow or an absolute nigthmare as no-one could spell them and the transcribers have to go with a complete guess on the very poor writing.
Having said that there are some people on this site who are super detectives so let them know what you are missing and watch them go.
