I am now a pensioner.

Post by MarkCDodd »

So the government have finally realised that I am over qualified for most of the computer jobs on offer and that nobody will employ a narcoleptic anyway.

As of today I am on a Disability Pension.

"That's good money!" said the Social Security employee.

"Not when you are used to earning the money I was!" was my reply.

I don't intend to be on it for long. I met some Indian businessman and showed them a concept for some software I am writing.

They are investing £250,000 for me to write and market the software.

I am not drawing a wage from their investment until I pay them back the agreed amount.

So hopefully I will be earning my way and paying tax again within a year.

I could have claimed the pension from September last year but I was stubbornly refusing to receive "charity".

As my wife pointed out, I have paid more than $1.5 million dollars in taxes during my working life.

About time I got some back....

Hope this venture goes well for you Mark. Where might this lead? You might become a household name. Good luck.

Don't let a little thing like money hold you back. I was thinking you could be up there with Bill Gates and the like. Maybe you could invent something to play music on and it could be named the "I Dodd"

First stage will be a free app for mobile phones so University Students can click a panic button which lets the security guards know they are in trouble and exactly where they are on the campus.

This will be a proof of concept for the mobile security station that works on iPads that will allow the replacement of walkie talkies with mobile phones.

My avatar is from the movie Ted, which is brilliant but not one to take Grandma to....
