To work these out we need to see the rest of the document so we can see how the clerk writes particular letters.

Hi thanks for the replies. It is from a marriage certificate from dundee, angus, scotland. i got the john hawthorne its the maiden name of the lassie i was tryng to figure out. It is isobella Mc**** i thought mckenzie but it looks more like mckongie but no idea i will try and upload the whole document later on sorry the title is misleading it should have been 1900 Marriage Hawthorne
