Lulu and I are hoping we can find a connection with Isaiah Plant
If we can tie in this Joseph Plant and John as rellies of Isaiah Plant
we can maybe say that mother Elizabeth Parry is not the mother but Amy Haynes is.

On the census 1871 Selina Jones is living next to this lot
Her dau is Amy Haynes who maybe the mother of May Plant
on the birth certif for May Plant father is Isaiah Plant and Amy Haynes

over to you Lulu :grin:

In 1871106 Halesowen Street;
Joseph Plant, 28, Bricklayer's Labourer;
Priscilla, 27, Nailer;
Ann, 4;
Mary, 2;
infant daughter, 1 day,
all born Rowley Regis,

living living next door 107:
John Plant, 25, Bricklayer;
Sarah Plant, 24, b. Halesowen, Nailer;
John, 3;
Sarah A., one month,
both born Rowley Regis.

I don't think I've got these Plants anywhere on my tree.
Could there be a connection with Ann Tromans, widow, 62, at 105, with a boarder Selina Jones, 21, I wonder?

One of the Ancestry trees is suggesting that Elizabeth Plant b. 1774, the unmarried mother of Pinson Plant 1794-1854, is the daughter of Benjamin Plant 1738 Old Swinford-1830 Rowley Regis and Rebecca Broadway 1744 Rowley Regis-1831 Rowley Regis marr. Old Swinford, Worcestershire 2 Sep 1763. The same tree says they had 11 children: James 1766-1850; Ann Plant 1769-1772; Sarah Plant 1771; Elizabeth 1774; Joseph 1776; Martha 1778; Phoebe 1780; Benjamin 1782-1851; Jesse 1784; Rosannah 1786; Lucy 1788. If so, this is the third Plant line going back Benjamin Plant < John Plant 1700 Old Swinford, Worcestershire-1777 Old Swinford, Worcestershire marr. Margaret Shaw c. 1702 Kingswinford?-1769 Old Swinford, Worcestershire < John Plant 1681 Old Swinford, Worcestershire-1764 Kingswinford marr. Mary Hunt 1668-1740. The track runs out with them! :wink:

No, I'm afraid not, NL. It's a different line, although it can be connected through marriage to the "geographical" line that Isaiah Plant 1873 and I are in. Sobiesketh Shaw (great name!) 1742-1809 is the key link. She married William Plant 1750-1832 in the line that begins with John Plant and Mary Hunt. Her brother Edward Shaw (1753-before 1841) married Ruth Plant (1767-1847) in 1787 in Kingswinford. Ruth is in my "geographical" Plant line which goes back to Benjamin Plant d. Dec 1682 Halesowen.
