Help needed

Hi Im looking for some more information about my great grand uncle Walter Rowbotham born in Macclesfield in 1879, parents: John and Ann (Hannah) Rowbotham. He appears in the 1881,1891 and 1901 census but I loose track of him after this. My mum thinks he traveled the world after 1901 as an artist and art teacher and finished up the head of Perth Technical College in Australia?
I am unble to find any travel info on Walter leaving the country but have managed to find a Walter Rowbotham arrieving at Liverpool in 1951 (down as retired teacher) with a daughter called Marjorie who is also a teacher. I think this could be the same same Walter but do not have access to documents outside the UK. Can anyone help?

Have found a James wood Rowbotham born Victoria, Australia 1918 (think he died 1968) See the following website .

The above website states his dad was Walter Rowbotham, could this be the same Walter? Its a long shot but could this be another son?
