'Tis a sad sad tale of woe and misery

Post by MarkCDodd »

I use PCTools Internet Security.

It automatically updated to the new 2012 version.

FIresfox Beta 9.x and PCTools 2012 didn't get along and before long I have scrambled hard disk.

Rushed over to my second PC that the trouble n' strife was using....

Too late, the same thing happened as I am screaming for her to shut down the damn thing.

So I have spent a couple of days bringing them both up from backups.

Contacted PCTools and told them I was not impressed that something that is supposed to protect my computers destrpyed them in a hissy fit.

Of course it was my fault somehow even though I have more qualifications than all their support staff put together and it was only thier latest update that caused an issue.

PCTools Internet Security 2011 doesn't have the problem I explained. Must be something in their new code I put forward as the logical conclusion.

They can't cater for Beta software they countered.

Oh, do Mozilla and Google and Microsoft all forward their new browsers to PCTools to be tested then?

Oh course not!

Idiots.
