Sorry but I just think the amount of money some people spend on Weddings is just ridiculous, and they go on and on about it for years before it happens, all show I feel, and let's face it, half of the Marriages don't last. Personally I would rather have a quick no nonsense wedding and a lovely holiday. Linell.

No need to be sorry! Your opinion :)
I see your point.
We dont have much money and this certainly is not one to out do the Joneses!
No one knows what life brings...they want to be married. I say good luck to them what ever may happen in the future. They deserve a brilliant day to enjoy. For a couple they have been through the mill as it is, so strength to them!

Well if you are having food and drink after I will come, I always go to weddings even though I don't enjoy them, it does not look right refusing, and it is nice seeing relations/friends you have not seen in ages. Maybe It's because I was never asked to be a bridesmaid they only asked my sisters.

Cant be so boring then can it?

NL,
sorry no you havent an invite, watching the pennies!

Jo :)

I saw a lovely church last weekend, would be perfect for a wedding!
It actually belongs to the National Museum of Iceland but is still consecrated and everything. It stands in the middle of a huge grass field, all alone because the farm it was associated with has been demolished. It is tiny little with only seats for 22 so that would keep the price down! The main snag is that the cross beams are at about 5 foot so you have to keep ducking under them!

I know what you mean.
When we got married we didn't want any fuss - I definately not one of those people who dream about their wedding from an early age. We didn't want a register office wedding either, because in Denmark it's a lot shorter than the church version, only takes about 10 mins, so we got married in a church, just with two witnesses. Other than the lack of guests, it was just like a normal wedding including music and choir. It was very romantic, it was december and when we came out the church it was snowing. Our families we told after the deed was done, with no histrionics!!
But at the end of the day I suppose people do what they feel most comfortabel with.

On Count down and Melt down now!
Sunday is coming too quick! :o

Picked my hat up today only for the kids to laugh when I showed them
Great load of confidence it gave me!

Trying to help my husband with the speech has just had me in tears!
Goodness knows what I will be like on the day!

NL we will see how stress free and calm you are when it comes to your daughters!

Will be back next week! Fingers crossed.
Jo :)

I read a quote for my son's wedding a few years ago from Captain Corelli's Mandolin, I was choked - but really pleased with myself when we watched it back on video. Just like to say that working as I do for a bridal shop - no-one noticed the credit crunch - in fact sales went up that year.

Hope you all have a smashing day - it's well worth the stress and hassle. Good luck to the happy couple

When the wedding is over and all the guests have gone - it's so nice to sit and mull over the Big Day. Studying all the photographs - and generally re-living the event.

But come on -------------- first things first. You've got an audience out here, waiting to hear what a success it was (as we all said it would be).

I've been following this since the end of july.
The wedding was two days ago and no news yet.
Did Jo go on honeymoon with the happy couple?
