Re: *Arc pend certifs*Knight, Jenkins,Pearson, Cartwright, Terry
Have found family in 1911 with Louisa as Head:
1911 114 Enville Street, Stourbridge
Knight, Mrs Louisa - Head - Widow - 41 - Mistress of Baking Department - Warwickshire, B'ham
Knight, Arthur Thomas - Eldest Son - 17 - Grammar School Scholar - Worcestershire, Stourbridge
Knight, Frank Leslie - Youngest Son - 13 - Deliver for mother - Worcestershire, Stourbridge
Talbot, Mrs Eliza - Mother - Widow - 64 - Cook Domestic - Warwickshire, Birmingham.
1901 114 Enville Street
Knight, Thomas Henry - Head - 41 - Baker - Employer - Working at home - Sussex, Newhaven
Knight, Louisa - Wife - 36 - Warwick, B'ham
Knight, Arthur T - Son - 10 - Worcester, Stourbridge
Knight, Frank L - Son - 8 - Worcester, Stourbridge
Knight, Thomas H - Nephew - 3- Warwick, B'ham
Jukes (?), Ernest - Servant - 23 - Journeyman Baker - Worker - Wales, Abbervate
There does seem to be errors with the ages, I can find out when Frank L was born as my mother is still in contact with his daughter who is her God mother, so will be able to confirm if the record you have found is correct, I am sure from the information I have so far it would be.

Re: *Arc pend certifs*Knight, Jenkins,Pearson, Cartwright, Terry
I had found a record for a Catherine Young marriage to a Thomas Knight in 1858 which would fit with the 1871 census which I had also located and would suggest a link. My only concern was that no husband or father was named on this census and the birth place for Thomas Henry Knight was Redditch whereas on the 1901 census for my family it is Newhaven, Sussex.
The baker link would suggest this is my Thomas Henry and could be the link to how the family came to Midlands area.
I have just discovered a link between Frederick Wedgbury (1891 Census) and the Young family (1871 Census) through his wife Mary Ann her maiden name was Young, and I believe was Caroline Knight's nee Young's sister, and would therefore make her Thomas Henry's aunt. I am now going to search earlier census' to see if I can find a Henry Young with daughters Mary Ann and Caroline, to confirm the link.
Marriage record:
Wedgebury, Frederick Young, Mary Ann Jun 1872 Bromsgrove 6c 667
Knight, Thomas Young, Caroline Dec 1858 Bromsgrove 6c 675
I have also just discovered from my mother that her grandmother Annie Laura Knight whose husband was Arthur Thomas Knight, Thomas Henry's son, often said that there were cousins, on the Knights side in Redditch. The names she often mentioned were the Dyer's and the Humphries'.

I think that you need to get the marriage certificate for Thomas and Louisa before we can go any further with this .
Nl will look the marriage up for William Knight and Kate Parkes.
This post will now be archived pending information on certificates.
Kerry PM a mod and we will bring this topic back.

ok have looked this marriage up for William Knight and Kate Parkes
father for William is a John Knight
I was hoping it might be a Henry Frederick Knight and then mother would be a Caroling Gladmann
We were hoping that Kates father would be Elijah
and I have lost the plot on this one

but dont think this lot on marriage are anything to do with this lot above
So I don't want to lose the info on this so going to post it on a new thread but giving info here too

Re: UPDATE.....Knight, Jenkins,Pearson, Cartwright, Terry
I now have the marriage certificate for Thomas Henry Knight to Louisa Terry, the details are as follows:
October or December (difficult to read) 26th 1892
Thomas Henry Knight 28 Baker - father Thomas Waters/Walice? Knight - Builder
Louisa Terry 23 - father Christopher Terry (deceased) - Nail Cutter
Parish of Sparkbrook, Birmingham
Witnesses were: John Paris and Lilian L Wedgebury (who I believe was Thomas Henry's cousin, if you look at the 1891 census info for 25 Hewell Road, Redditch)
I have also now got the birth certificate for the above Thomas Henry Knight, details are as follows:
March 22nd 1864 Rottingdean
Thomas Henry
Father - Thomas Knight - Joiner, Journey Man
Mother - Caroline Knight formerly Young
This information also links to census information I have found, 1871 census:
Hewell Road, Redditch
Henry Young Head 52 Needle Finisher
Ann Young wife 51 Needle Finisher
Marian Young Dau 18 Blind in one eye
Lolinson Young son 14 Needle finisher
Wallie Young Son 11 Scholar
Caroline Knight Dau 31
Frederick W Knight G.Son 8 Scholar
Thomas H Knight G. Son 7 Scholar
1881 Census 73 Evesham Road, Redditch
Anthony Young 72 head Baker
Helen Young Dau 33
Catherine Young Dau 30
Helen M Partridge Grand Dau 11
Thomas Knight Boarder 17 Baker
1891 25 Hewell Road, Redditch
Frederick Wedgbury 38 Finishing machine needles
Mary Ann Wedgbury 39 Wife Dressmaker (previously Young)
Florence L Wedgbury 18 dau Dressmakers Apprentice
Henry H Wedgbury 14 son needle manufacturers errand boy
Lilian B Wedgbury dau 12 scholar (witness to Thomas Henry and Louisa Terry's wedding 1892)
Annie May Wedgbury 11 dau Scholar
Clara Winifred Wedgbury dau 6 scholar
Alice May Wedgbury dau 5 scholar
Ada Elsie Wedgbury dau 4 Scholar
Thomas Hy Knight Nephew 27 Baker out of employment
Samuel Wedgbury Father 68 Widow
I believe that the information in the 1871 census, where the head of the family is a Henry Young, shows Thomas Henry Knight's mother Caroline living back with her parents with her two sons Thomas H and Frederick W Knight, and that her husband was either dead or perhaps working away. I believe at some time Caroline and her husband lived in Sussex and that Thomas H was born there, Rottingdean, as stated on the birth certificate I know is close to Newhaven, which on the 1901 census is where Thomas Henry Knight was born.
I also believe that the nephew on the 1901 census, Thomas Henry Knight, his father was more than likely Frederick W Knight, Thomas Henry's brother listed on the 1871 census. I think therefore I need to find information for a Thomas Henry Knight whose father would have been Frederick W Knight, and also search for a marriage for a Frederick W Knight. I have found a few records that could be possibilities, but would need to make these to Thomas Henry's birth as well.
Hope this helps, and I do feel that there is a link to the Redditch census information, strange that the family now live in Redditch, have come full circle!!
