Take it back to the shop Annie and kick up a fuss! We had a dodgy one and it didnt work and sent it straight back and they replaced it on the spot no messing
Annie.....Take it straight back and demand a new one ! what make is it ? the one I use is a HP 550 basic 1.0 Mb. I have Mac upstairs but not used much now, but I prefer Applemac. but still this is quite suitable for every day use on the Net. Regards.....Mike.
Oh I have kicked up a fuss , they are coming out to it on Monday so they said and they will have me ranting at them if they don't, it's a Toshiba and it runs Vista when it goes.
Got my daughters laptop again today while they are out .

I have lost some stuff mike because it just went off on it's own so did not get chance to back up.

there a possibility annie if you write a list of what you've lost they might able to recover it ?

Hi Mike I do back back up very often, the back ups I made on the old laptop have had to be restored before they would work with Vista and they are all fine now, thank goodness would have takeb=n me ages to enter all my family back on the FTM.

I could do with you there Northern Lass I'm a bit to soft not pushy , but I'm angry over the laptop.
Well Annie I think you may be right on this laptop I haven't done anything but on my Mac I put everything on Floppy discs....but this useful item is no longer used. Mike
