NOTE: Before these records there are no other Garratts recorded in Netherton, we went back as far as 1713, and given the variations in name spelling it would appear that they are the first Garratts there.
The registrar most likely wrote the names Shelah and Garratt 'phonetically'.
It was also more than likely that Shelah came up to Netherton to marry Mary Bennett.


Daughter of William and Susanna Garratt.
The only other Garratts on the register at this time.
Possibly Shelahs brother born 1753.

Mark was a big church going man; they peeled the bells at his funeral, so my father told me,
Supposedly has an inscription somewhere in St Giles.
