I don't understand. I know his entire family thought of him as a Young, I do have an old picture of him when he was younger but it's hard to tell how old he is. It was definitely taken in West Bromwich because it says so on the back. He looks like he is in his twenties maybe? I sent it to Malosa with the other Young pics. There is also one where he is about 80 sitting with Henry Archer, John Richard (my Pop-Pop), and Philip Young (great uncle who died in the war in 44').
Yes another John Richard...heh
Somewhat off topic, Richard had two sons with Archer as their middle names: Henry Archer and William Archer. That name has to come from somewhere.
Update: ..nevermind it came from Harriet's mother's maiden name: Louisa Archer. Harriet Emma Meacham did move to West Bromwich when she was 13.
Is it possible there are two Richards, one Stokes one Young who both married a Harriet Emma Meacham within a year of each other?
The 1881 census shows Harriet and Richard Young living next door to William Stokes his stepfather, plus they have a lodger Josiah MANSELL living with them. They had their first son Alfred YOUNG living with them as well. Did they marry twice? Once as Stokes then to Young? I mean there is a definite link to Stokes...
This is getting silly now

didn't my great great grandfather know I'd be trying to trace my roots? Jeez!
