Bramleys seem to not be as tarty as I would like
No good at baking , so I get mine from Sainbury's they are lovely with big chunks of tarty bramley's apple in, M&S are also good, I do have a bromley apple tree in the garden and that's got some lovely one's on , will use them fro crumbles and baked apples.

My mum said that cox's are okay too, but I'm not sure if she mixes them with Bramleys, or just on their own!!
